Charlotte Mendly is a Singer and Pianist based in Derbyshire and has been teaching and performing since graduating from Leeds College of Music (now Leeds Conservatoire) in 2008. Having studied Classical, Jazz, Musical Theatre and Popular Music, Charlotte's passion lies in contemporary music.
Charlotte studied at Leeds College of Music where she gained a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies (2008). She majored in Performance, with first instrument voice and second instrument piano, alongside Musical Direction and Musicology. Since graduating, she has gained an Associate of the London College of Music (2011) and a Licentiate of the London College of Music in Musical Theatre Performance (2018). Charlotte is currently working towards the highest musical theatre performance diploma, Fellow of the London College of Music.
In June 2023, she graduated with a Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy, certified by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. The focus of her studies was music for health, including mental health and wellbeing, postnatal depression, and the menopause.


Charlotte teaches piano and singing from her home studio, working with students of a wide range of ages and abilities. She has extensive experience across a variety of educational settings, providing music and vocal tuition at institutions including Nottingham Girls’ High School, Wildcats Academy, Hall Park Academy, and Spring Bank School.
She regularly undertakes workshops and continuing professional development (CPD) training, and is a member of the British Voice Association. Charlotte is currently a visiting singing lecturer at Performers College (Birmingham), where she works with undergraduate students on the Dance and Musical Theatre degree programme. She also delivers guest workshops for schools and colleges, including Studio 79 Tuition, and is a visiting artistic practitioner at Curve Theatre (Leicester).
In addition, Charlotte leads a number of community singing groups. With a background in musical direction, she has a strong passion for conducting choirs and vocal ensembles. This has led to her directing workplace choirs and delivering team-building experiences for companies such as Boots UK.
Keeping busy, Charlotte frequently performs as a solo artist and with accompanying musicians. She recently released *Daughter*, inspired by her journey into motherhood, which is available to stream and download on all major music platforms. Her charity single *Angels*, written and released with Brinsley Community Choir, received regional recognition and earned her a Semi-Finalist place in the UK Songwriting Contest (2018).
Charlotte’s other experience and achievements include being a finalist in Yamaha’s Young Jazz Musician (2008), as well as appearances on BBC Radio Nottingham and BBC East Midlands Today (2017), and features in Jazzwise Magazine (2008). She has also worked as a guest singing adjudicator and undertaken television extra work for ITV. Charlotte is fully DBS checked and First Aid qualified (2019).
